Bret took the track and made a qualifying lap in 30.247 seconds. However, the team noticed that the truck needed a few adjustments during the run. Crew chief Mike Shiplett made the call to make "unapproved adjustments" to the truck, resulting in the Precision Garage Door Service No.32 truck dropping to the back of the pack for the start of the race.
Unapproved Adjustments - Falling within the NASCAR Rule Book, the adjustments made after qualifying resulted in a penalty to the starting position for the BHR team. For more information, follow the link here.

Stage 1
Having made adjustments after qualifying, the team used Stage 1 to get a feel for the truck's changes. Holmes was able to advance into the top 20 but found himself in P23 at the stage's conclusion.
Stage 2
Noticing that the truck was growing tighter through the race, the team brought the truck back to pit road. After the stop, the truck gained momentum on the track, allowing Bret to speed around traffic before finishing the stage in a top 20 position.
Final Stage
As the track and the truck continued to change throughout the race, the team brought Holmes into the pits to make adjustments to the truck's handling. Holmes found himself a lap down but continued to push forward, fighting for position, and finished the race in P22.
