Bret Holmes drives the Best Value Carriers No.32 truck around Martinsville Speedway.

Track Info:

Nicknamed "The Paperclip" for its unique shape, at .526 miles around, Martinsville Speedway is the shortest track in the NASCAR Truck Series circuit. Its small size, speedy straightaways, and tight corners combine to challenge the driver's endurance, reaction time, and patience.

Bret Holmes was one of the first 15 trucks on the track to qualify. Using practice to communicate the Best Value Carriers No.32 truck's handling with his team, Holmes qualified with a time of 20.047 seconds.

Race Stats:

Time & Conditions: 6:30 PM CT | 53 °F | Fair | 15MPH Winds

Starting Position & Results: P28 | P27 | P27 | P24

Stage 1

  • With the field virtually staying in place, Holmes found himself shuffling between P20 and P28 throughout the first stage. The race saw the first of eleven cautions when Thad Moffit, driver of the No.46 truck, spun out on turn 3.

Stage 2

  • Holmes found himself right outside the top 20 throughout the stage but had trouble advancing further due to the excess of cautions. Using the cautions to their advantage, Mike Shiplett and the crew brought Holmes into the pit and worked to get the truck's handling down for the final stretch of the race.

Final Stage

  • With four fresh tires and the truck adjusted, Holmes climbed the field into P15 early in the stage before exiting for, what the team planned to be, the final pit stop of the race.

  • Shortly after exiting pit road, Kaden Honeycutt of the No.45 truck, slammed into the bumper of Bret Holmes, sending the Best Value Carries No.32 truck spinning.
