Race Recap - North Carolina Education Lottery 200

The No. 32 Truck rounds turn 4 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Looking to bounce back after last week, Holmes and the team were determined to make the most of their practice laps and set the tone for the remainder of the day. Being one of the first ten trucks to qualify has its disadvantages as the track changes truck to truck, but Holmes was able to put together a QUICK qualifying lap of 31.404 seconds and would start in P27.

Stage 1

A quiet stage 1 would come and go with little change to the running order. Holmes communicated how the truck handled throughout the beginning of the race and the team took notes on what to adjust on the first few pit stops.

Stage 2

Similar to the first stage, the second stage was pretty straight forward. With only two lead changes, the field saw relatively no changes until pit strategy came into play.

Final Stage

As the final stage began, Mike Shiplett called Holmes into the pits to make adjustments for the final stretch of the race. Pulling onto pit road in P28, the BHR pit crew managed to send Bret back out right outside the top 15.
Pushing for another top-15 finish, Shiplett pushed Bret to race as hard as he could on the final few laps. Bret would cross the finish line in P15. However, with Corey Heim in the No.11 truck being disqualified due to failing the post race inspection, Holmes would be scored a P14 position.
