Holmes Takes Third in Thrilling Race at Talladega

Bret Holmes, former ARCA Menards Series champion, had a successful weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. Driving the No. 23 Chevrolet sponsored by Golden Eagle, Holmes finished in third place in the General Tire 200 on Saturday.

The race was Holmes' only ARCA start of the season, as he is currently competing full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. With this in mind, Holmes and his team were eager to perform well in front of their home crowd.

Holmes started the race in 18th position but quickly moved up through the field, showing impressive speed and skill. He was able to avoid several wrecks throughout the race and stayed in contention for the lead for much of the day.

In the final laps of the race, Holmes found himself in a battle for the front with the drivers swapping positions several times. Holmes attempted to pass the leaders by going to the outside, but unfortunately, there wasn't enough help or time for him to make the move, resulting in him finishing in third place. After the race, Holmes spoke about the challenges of racing at Talladega and the importance of having a strong team behind him.

Holmes also expressed gratitude to his sponsor, Golden Eagle, for their support throughout the weekend. "They've been with us for a while now, and it's always great to have them on board. They're a great partner, and we're proud to represent them on the track."

Despite not taking home the win, Holmes' strong performance at Talladega is a testament to his talent as a driver and the skill of his team. As he continues to compete in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, fans can look forward to seeing him back in Talladega in the fall.
