Bret Holmes Sets Sights on Final Two Races of the Season for BHR

Updated: Apr 3, 2023

The Mooresville, N.C., -based race team is scheduled to compete in two final NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races this season. Holmes will pilot the No. 32 Golden Eagle Syrup Chevrolet at Talladega Superspeedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway in October to cap off the 2022 season for Bret Holmes Racing.

“I’m excited to go back to a track that Bret (Holmes) knows so well,” said Shane Huffman, crew chief for the No. 32 Chevrolet team. “We’ve worked hard this season to build up our program in the Truck Series. It’s hard when you don’t race every week but even on a part-time schedule, we’ve made improvements and learned a lot for these upcoming races. I’m confident we’ll finish out the season strong with Bret.”

So far this season, Holmes has entered six NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events and captured one top 10 and three top-15 finishes. The Munford, Ala., native heads to Talladega Superspeedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway with high goals.

“To say I’m excited about this race is an understatement,” said Holmes. “Last year, we came through the field to lead a good portion of the race and stayed in the top five until the very end. I think as long as we can avoid the wrecks at the end, we’ll have a good shot to win it this year. We’ve come close to winning at Talladega (Superspeedway) a few times, so winning is the goal this weekend.”

Golden Eagle Syrup will adorn the hood of the No. 32 machine for both events at Talladega Superspeedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway. The Fayette, Ala., - based company has been with Holmes and the BHR team for most of their Truck Series season.

“I’m honored to have Golden Eagle Syrup back with us as a sponsor at BHR for these last two races,” said Holmes. “I actually met the Bowling family when I was attending Auburn University. We’ve developed a strong friendship over the years, and they’ve been a long-time supporter of both me and our race team.”

Both Truck Series races will feature live coverage on FOX Sports 1. The Talladega 250 at Talladega Superspeedway is scheduled for 12:30pm Eastern Time on October 1. The Baptist Health 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway is scheduled for 1pm Eastern Time on October 22.
